Sweden Stockholm. It has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world with a mixture of new and old.

Stockholm set beside the water, is more or less flat and a joy to walk around. It is however quite spread out, with lots to see, so one should plan a visit in advance ... a sightseeing tour of the center could be a good idea.

The old town which adjoins the Royal Palace is a must with narrow street and shops and as one would expect little cafes with the chance to sit and just watch the world.

Sightseeing Stockholm

Visiting Stockholm you are in for a great day. These are some of the places one should see.

Vasa Museum
See a 17th-century warship. It spent 333 years in the mud of Stockholm Harbor until it was raised in 1961.

The Archipelago
See the Archipelago. Boats leave from Nybrokajen and outside the Grand Hotel.

Royal Palace
The baroque palace with 600 rooms. Combined royal residential quarters, offices, museums, and art galleries. Open to visitors year-round. Dominates Gamla stan—The Old Town. Fee.

City Hall
A beautiful building that took eight million red bricks build. Hard to miss.

Gamla Stan
In the middle of everything. The Old Town is impossible to miss. Lovely square.

They have a Hop On Hop Off Bus. This seems a good way to see the city as it has stops at the places of interest.

An experience is to visit The Nordic Sea Hotel, Stockholm's Absolute Ice Bar. Enjoy a Vodka at -5 degrees Celsius ... its a lot of fun but you need to book. (You can book online via the Internet).

Cruises: For people arriving on a cruise ship. The entry in to Stockholm though the islands is amazing ... no matter the time of arrival one should be up early to experience it.

Stockholm is a beautiful City and a joy to explore. I seems to have a new view to enjoy around every corner.

For me it was a map and a lot of walking in the old and newer shopping parts of the city.
