Budapest
Hungary. Budapest a most beautiful city, The countries capital with a setting beside the Danube.

Budapest is made up of Buda and Pest, with the Danube passing between them, seven bridges make it easy to travel to both sides. (To make it easy Buda is the side with the Castle on the hill).

From the castle walls you get breathtaking views as you look over the Danube, with the Parliament Building and city below.

The city has a lot to see

Sightseeing Budapest

Budapest is the large city and we suggest the

Budapest Budapest Hop On Hop Off Bus
The Red City Tour bus. Set route takes in both Buda and Pest and is great value. If you check with your hotel they will advise you the closest stop. Click to view

Budapest The local Tram (No 2 Tram) also travels bedide the Danube and is a nice ride - you have to get a ticket from the machine before boarding, best to ask a local how, it's not easy to find the machine.

Must sees in Budapest should include:
Budapest* Castle Hill and the Royal Palace
* Central Pest around Vaci Street
* Parliament
* Varosliget (City Park) Heroes Square & Millennium Monument
* The Central Market
* Cathedral

Szentendre Szentendre is about 45 minutes outside of Budapest. It can be reached by HEV train that runs from Batthyany ter in Budapest. Szentendre is the end of the line and its then just a nice stroll to the village. See Szentendre

Its a charming Village with its main square and churches all set beside the Danube ... well worth the visit.

If you prefer, we suggest the half day tour - click for details

My Travels Neil Walker - View All

Budapest is a great city to visit.

Being beside the Danube, makes it easy to get ones bearings and you can explore the central area on foot ... if you like walking, as it's spread out on both sides of the river.

I would suggest the On Off Bus with a commentery as it gives information on the places.
