Samos a green and beautiful island. in the Eastern Aegean of Greece with much of interest. Close to Turkish coast with Kusadasi an easy to visit for the day.

Sightseeing Samos

Samos - Vathi is the capital of Samos.

Pythagoreio A nice place to stay with its harbour and views of the Turkish coast. It has good restaurants and bars.

Samos Island has much greenery, unlike many of the Greek Islands. It has a good local bus service that will enable you to visit most of the island.

The beaches can be a mixture of pebbles and sand some organised with sun beds etc, whilst, others can be quieter.

Their are historical places and museums, but we suggest the best sightseeing, is to go over to Kusadasi and take a tour to Ephesus Daily Ferries are available from Samos to Kusadasi

Getting Around the Islands - Samos

Air: Samos Airport Aristarchos is located approx 4 km from Pythagoreio.

Ferry: The island has three ferry ports: Pythagoreio, Karlosvassi and Vathi.

I like Pythagoreio as a base with its natural beauty and feel.

I made my first visit to Turkey from here, we walked along the harbour front and found a yacht offering day tours to Kusadasi and Ephesus ... to sail over the blue Agean and then to visit Ephasis was unforgettable day.
