An old Celtic settlement and later the Romans. Passau is a wealth of old buildings and narrow streets leading down to the rivers on two sides.
Most visitors would be traveling by River Boat or Car. Sightseeing Passau This is a town to walk and explore with it's narrow streets. The Cathedral is a must see as is the interested Town Hall. A beautiful river town to relax and enjoy Car: If touring this is a good stop. River Cruises: This is a stop for many of the river cruises. They would normally include a tour of the town.

The town is dominated by the Baroque and Gothic Cathedral. Its Organ is claimed to be the largest in the world and is an experience to hear. If you have time its worth checking the schedule to hear the organ.
