Melk Abbey on the bank of the Danube River.

Baroque built in 1702-1736. Over 900 years old. A highlight of the abbey is Stiftskirche - the Abbey Church.

A tour is worthwhile as it will will also show you the library and fine views from the Abbey's terraces.

After your visit to the Abbey make sure you do not miss the gardens ... in the summer when roses are in bloom the display is a picture.
