Adelaide Elder Park beside the River Torrens

Adelaide. planned back in 1836, is a city centre of one square mile and open space.

Easy to walk around and explore. It's also the gateway to some great wine regions. The Barossa Valley, Coonawarra and the Clare Valley. You also have the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Which Part of the Adelaide to Stay:

Adelaide CBD makes it easy to visit all parts of the city.

Glenelg just 12 km from the city makes a nice alternative. A Tram Runs between the City and Glenelg. Its a popular beach side area.

Things to Do:

* Adelaide City
This is easy to explore on foot in a day. With the park, church and Torrens River. For those that would like a guided tour these are available daily.

* Glenelg
You can take the tram from the city for a day in this popular beach side town. It offers fine restaurants and cafes.

* Wine Tasting
If you plan to visit the wineries in the area. We suggest you rent a car and plan an overnight stay

* Kangaroo Island Day Tour from Adelaide
Walk with the seals on the beach. Home to the Wallaby, Goanna, Echidna, Koala, Kangaroo and a haven for marine wildlife and seabirds.

* Barossa Valley with Hahndorf Tour
Join a day tour to the Barossa Valley, wine tasting, Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf. Sample the delights of the Barossa Valley.

My Travels Neil Walker - View All

Adelaide is a nice city to visit, for those that like to sightsee, visit good restaurants and maybe visit the wineries in the Adelaide area. Limited nightlife for those wanting a wild time.

If planning to visit the wineries we suggest you rent a car (provided you have a driver that is happy not to sample the wine). You can then arrange overnight accommodation and enjoy the visit at your own pace.

I find a visit to Glenelg is nice.
